How to put contact lenses in,Quick start for newbies!

Contact lenses are a great alternative to glasses which can provide sharper vision and a more natural look. However, for those new to contact lenses, putting them in can be a little daunting. In this guide, we’ll take you through the process of putting in your contact lenses step-by-step.

Step 1: Wash your hands

Before handling your contact lenses, always wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water. This will help to prevent any dirt or bacteria from getting on to your lenses and causing problems.

Step 2: Open your lens case

Take your lens case and open it carefully. Make sure you’re holding it over a flat surface so that if you drop anything, it won’t roll away.

Step 3: Remove the first lens

Using your fingertips, gently remove the first lens from its case. Place it on the tip of your index finger and make sure that it’s not inside out.

Step 4: Look up and pull down your lower eyelid

Using the fingers of your left hand, gently pull down your lower eyelid. Use your right hand to hold the lens on the tip of your index finger.

Step 5: Place the lens on your eye

Look up and place the lens gently onto the white of your eye. Release your eyelid slowly, and the lens will stick to your eye.

Step 6: Blink

Blink a few times to help the lens settle into place. If the lens feels uncomfortable or is not in the right position, gently remove it and start again.

Step 7: Repeat with the other lens

Repeat the process with your other lens.

Congratulations! You’ve successfully put your contact lenses in. Remember to always follow the instructions given to you by your eye care practitioner and to keep your lenses clean and well-maintained. Happy seeing!
